Green Planet Bottling has launched a new entry to the $11 billion bottled water market, packaged in an organic, 100-percent plant-based bottle.
Unlike the dominant plastic bottles containing petroleum and BPA, Green Planet bottles are made from 100-percent plants that are toxin-free and carbon neutral. The bio-based water bottles do not leach chemicals into its contents, are reusable, completely recyclable and compostable in just 80 days.
The water is vapor-distilled for purity and taste and when possible sourced within 500 miles of its destination, so it is less environmentally detrimental than brands transported long distances.
“We’re increasingly hearing about the dangers of petroleum-based bottles,” says Bradford Schulman, founder, “and Green Planet is leading the industry in responding with our 100-percent plant-based compostable and recyclable bottle.”
Green Planet bottled water is currently available in a 16.9 oz. bottle; one liter and 12 oz. bottles will be introduced this spring. It is priced competitively with premium water brands offered in petroleum-based bottles.
Currently, Green Planet is being distributed in 18 markets throughout the U.S., targeting schools at all levels, corporate campuses and hotels, where offering the brand counts toward LEED certification. It’s also being picked up at select restaurants, convenience stores and public locations, such as cultural centers.
Green Planet Bottling is also part of the United States Department of Agriculture BioPreferredSM program, which aims to increase the purchase and use of renewable, environmentally friendly bio-based products. Under the voluntary labeling program, products that meet the BioPreferred program requirements—such as Green Planet’s new environmentally-friendly water bottles—will soon carry a distinctive label for easier identification by government, businesses and consumers.
Green Planet Bottling, LLC was formed to help its customers make positive and sustainable differences by making a product that is healthy for people and planet.
