Berry Easy Fruit Compote

Often we are in search of a fresh quick flavorful healthy dish that will satisfy our hunger and sweet tooth without too much guilt. There are few better summer treats than fresh berries from your local farmer’s market or home garden. And one of the very best ways to enjoy them is to heat them just slightly – until their color is intense and they’re really bursting with flavor. This very simple compote is great over lowfat yogurt or a whole-grain cereal in the morning (although you might also enjoy it later in the day, over lowfat ice cream or slices of angel food cake). Makes 4 servings.
